CLC Weekly 🧊 Full fridge care.
October 27th, 2023
Hi friends,
Dreaming of sub-terrarium, self-sustaining circular food storage from a very near future while I try to incentivize my refrigerator to hum another day. Between overly frozen produce, pooling condensation puddles, and a door seal that requires a full hip check to avoid self-induced food poisoning, I’m wondering where I failed this ice box.
We need each other–me to fill shelves with aspirational ingredients and pop-up prep (and more often, leftovers) and Fridgey to filter out cool air consistently around these items. We may be unreliable in output, but reliably so.
I have to wonder if I committed to a regular deep clean, aspirational glass containers, and fully prepped produce if it would be this way. In the same way I can’t expect to run a full pop-up operation for 25+ folks on a regular basis, alone, we both need mindful care. More intentional systems to improve our output over the long run, love to our inner workings and the things we both carry, and attention to sealants–that which keeps us together.
…Or maybe I just need a new fridge.

intro by Hawnuh Lee + materials by Moji Igun
In a moment considering systems and how to self-sustain in the midst of ongoing creative projects (pop-ups, studio, all the fun) I'm returning to a favorite tool created by friend and zero-waste mentor, Moji Igun. This habit reset walkthrough offers a mindful break in this season of change. I believe intentions can be implemented at any point in the year and as leaves turn and the temperature drops, I'm finding myself wanting more thoughtfulness in my own direction.Originally shared on CLC, it's the perfect time to revisit our own habits and spend time with these pages. You can download the full-res PDF here to fill in on your own.
If this resonated, reply back and share some intentions.
