February 14, 2020

Hi fam,

Happiest of heart days to y’all. I have a packaging confession to make–I love, like will go to great lengths to acquire, the Sweetart Valentine’s candy hearts that only come out this time of year. They are packed in multiple levels of plastic and are literally just sugar and yet, I will find myself inexplicably walking down the pink and red themed grocery store aisles. Self love, I’ve told myself in the past, these are for me just because. Well this year I’m focusing specifically on low waste (and low sugar) options to celebrate myself instead. Self love shouldn’t happen just one day out of the year with a candy binge, we should cultivate sustainable habits on a regular basis that support mindful intention. This practice will look different for everyone, maybe you sign up for a cooking class so you can make delicious meals for one or you start taking yourself on an evening walk to unwind. Self love can come in small moments and you don’t need a lot of money or stuffs to make that happen. We’ve got some great suggestions from our newest contributor, Sara Weinreb, to make it happen. Read on folx!

Let’s all take a minute to celebrate ourselves. You and your efforts matter. Much love.
