Closed Loop Weekly š Hive mind
April 17th, 2020Hello my fellow Closed Loopers,
I miss you. I miss my people and I appreciate yāall continuing to show up and read this weekly note. It makes all the difference. Right now weāre in the midst of urban homesteading. Figuring out all the ways we can be self sufficient in the city. Thereās talk of a backyard chicken coop, we just signed up for a CSA with Love Farm (they still have spots left!) and weāre making our first sourdough starter baby (thank you to Rinella Produce for 50 lbs of flour - wholesale yāall.) We havenāt made it to family cloth thankfully, we will McGyver a bidet need be, but weāre making long term changes towards food stability. Weāre lucky to have access to materials, Iām so appreciative of that.
With that, I want to take a moment to ask my community, do you or a loved one need anything? Wherever you are, letās figure out the best resources to help.
Do you have resources to share? Letās compile some community knowledge we can disperse.
I would love to hear from anyone who has need or has knowledge. Iāll continue sharing resources on the site, the newsletter, and person to person. Getting through the next few months will be a community effort and Iām so glad to have yāall here for it. Letās stay connected.
Stay hungry,
Hawnuh Lee | Founder, Closed Loop Cooking

The Ecopreneur PodcastIām excited to share an interview I did recently with Vanina Howen of The Ecopreneur Podcast. We had a fantastic time talking all things plant-based, low waste, and creative. Would love yāall to give it a listen and review. Vaninaās great work highlights other sustainably minded business owners to create accessibility for others making moves.

Portland Farmers MarketIām bummed to have missed the Portland Farmers Market the last few weeks. In lieu of the traditional market, theyāve put together a very helpful guide to connect you with vendors outside of the actual market. You can find options for ordering produce, baked goods, meats, dairy, other items and several farms offering CSA options.
Have an idea we should feature in the newsletter? Want to support us? Drop us a line at [email protected] and tell your pals to sign up. We canāt wait to see what yāall cook up next! #closedloopcooking
