To my CLC family,

Black Lives Matter. This is just the beginning. Black Lives Matter. We can not stand idly by any longer. Black Lives Matter. We must support, empower, and uplift the black community throughout every industry. Black Lives Matter. Allies must educate and practice anti-racism every single day. Black Lives Matter. We must take action. Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

If you’re reading this newsletter I believe in your ability to take action, right now. Whether that looks like protesting, sharing resources, signing petitions, donating, educating and informing (others and yourself), hiring, mentoring, or elevating, you have POWER to take a stand. To my white friends, you are capable of more than performative allyship. Elect to take one step today to make change. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the gravity of it all, that means there is more work to be done. Do not wait for this moment to pass quietly–your voice is the ripple effect for change.

With a few other designers, we put together linksforaction.com. Find a cause to donate to, a booklist to dig into (and black owned bookstores to purchase through), petitions to sign, resources to share. If you have links to add, please, let us know.

Closed Loop Cooking will continue to support food justice, equality, and sustainability through resources and stories centered on diversity and inclusivity. Support social change and pass this newsletter along to anyone looking for ideas on how to help.
