On process, on plate.
Culinary clarity and commonalities (+ rat chefs.)

Hi friends,
There’s a particular feeling when a new recipe just works. A moment when ideation meets experimentation and flavors come together to create something that is so seriously delicious you can only nod your head in self approval. Chefs live for that feeling. For palette defining dishes that speak craveable volumes and trigger sensory connection for the eater. We all cried at Ratatouille right?
It’s this moment of culinary clarity that makes cooking so worthwhile. The infinite possibility in every new creation–weaving edible narrative threads together through texture and taste. Where story meets satiety and one can revel in something unequivocally good. This process drives so many chefs, home cooks, and foodie folks (myself and aspiring rodent apprentice included.)
And it’s in this work we find commonality. In understanding each other through what we eat. In what we deem delicious and worthy of sharing. In how we center ourselves and others in each new dish. Because when a bite is that good, we’re all reminded of the simple pleasure in food.
I hope you tasted something epically enjoyable this week, and if you did, share back.
And of course–
Stay hungry,

What’s cooking?
New recipe that hits all the right tastebuds–salt + vinegar beet chip millet salad is a must make summer dish. Crunchy, umami, packed with veg. You’re gonna want to make this for every upcoming group gathering. (You can make this with me live on K2 tomorrow!) Just make sure you save your beet greens for a lemony sautée!
